SL: This song has always been one of my favourites, from what I consider to be Procol Harum's finest album. I first tried to record it in 2002 (I think) but couldn't find a 'way in' to make it my own. Coming to it again in 2005, I decided to start again from scratch and ditched my unfinished first attempt. I immediately thought of the idea of starting with the choral section, and after that everything else fell into place. I dispensed with the idea of any mention of 'Piggy Pig Pig' within the song, as I have no idea why it was there in the first place! Perhaps Mr Brooker might enlighten us ... |
